Product Uploads + SEO

Search engine optimization is the process of getting a page or website to show up in search engines for a particular keyword or phrase. aCo Digital offers this service as part of the Digital Advisory retainer OR ala carte.

For search engine optimization and to speed up the time it takes to setup new products, we create templates per each collection on a website. This starts by evaluating a website's taxonomy and documenting categories, tags, collections and consumer personas.  Once we've determined what needs to be done we setup HTML templates for every collection to be utilized. These vary by industry, retail sale items, and meta data.

To the left, you see an example of a product page description for children's clothing. There is a h1 header, sentence or paragraph description, highlighted details and rich snippets coded into tags/collections for cross-linking products.

This work takes roughly 4-6 months to setup and longer to implement. Search engine optimization is a long-term permanent commitment.

Every task a business owner takes should come from a bigger picture goal. For SEO, you want consumers to find your website organically and quickly navigate to purchase items. SEO is not just about Google, Facebook or Yahoo (external platforms). The foundation of SEO also helps improve consumer user experiences by allowing them to find what they want efficiently, have a good experience, and navigate your site with fewer clicks.

Examples of how SEO helps your internal website functionality and user experience:

Website filters help consumers navigate to products quickly and efficiently. By utilizing custom tag searches, dropdown filters and add product search engines on your site consumers can use filters vs. collections to drill down to find products. This is particularly useful to large sites with constantly changing inventory.

Clean descriptive product layouts are important to any good retail website. It not only looks good and consistent but is functional too. When a user sees pages on a website that are templated they look clean and familiar so the site becomes easier to navigate. Every page utilizing a header, description, videos, recipes, size charts or other important text, videos and images means predictability and learnability for the consumer. So, they know exactly where to go to find the information they want to make buying decisions.

Navigation can be useful or cumbersome. The process of organizing your website's taxonomy can allow a business owner to choose collections and navigational items for their website's primary and secondary navigation based on what consumers want and need. By doing this you enable the consumer to navigate to what they are looking for FASTER and more efficiently. Plus, by removing excess items this lessens the number of clicks needed to get where they are going. The faster a consumer gets what they want, the faster they can make a purchase.

Can we do a test run?

Can we do a test run?

Absolutely!

We'd be happy to have someone on our team do a couple of paid sample products. We could do it without SEO so that it's only $3 per product. This is the cost for non-retainer clients and content management clients. Digital advisory clients get products at $0.50 to $1 per product.

The SEO side of things takes months. We would need to work on tags, collections, product types, alt attributes, links, descriptions, rich snippets and a bunch more. We do a template per each collection. Rewrite all the descriptions. Then implement the coded templates. Average build time is 4-6 months for a medium size product list.

If we write the descriptions now, we don't recharge you for the products once the templates are done, we just implement them.
If I get product descriptions now, without the templates, will I re-pay for implementation?

If I get product descriptions now, without the templates, will I re-pay for implementation?

Maybe. If you pay us to write your product descriptions at $25 per product page for SEO, you would NOT pay twice. It will take months to complete your templates. So we can write descriptions and get your products live early and then implement the templates later.

If you aren't sure about a product selling out, you can pay $3 per product for descriptions until we finish the templates. However, we would then charge you $25 on top of the the $3 for implementation.

If you are on retainer, we charge only $0.50 per product description. SEO is included for digital advisory clients.

What if I pay $25 per product and the template isn't done and my product sells out?

What if I pay $25 per product and the template isn't done and my product sells out?

If you aren't sure about a product selling out, you can pay market value per product for descriptions until we finish the templates. However, we would then charge you $25 on top of the the market value for implementation. See Pricing Page for details.

What does $25 per page mean?

If you have 100 products and 5 pages that would be $105 just for copy OR $2625 for SEO and copy.

We require a minimum of $100/mo in products any month you need content unless you are a digital advisory client (then no minimum).

You’d pre-pay for the content prior to the work starting.

This cost per product/page for digital advisory clients is available on our Pricing Page

What is the process to hand off our products?

You’d send us invoices, vendor links, and your images/reel links OR a box of products for us to take images ($3/image).

Let us know ahead of time when you order and send a tracking number so we can plan for arrival to be ready to do descriptions.

If you need a guaranteed 72 hour turn around we can only do that on weekdays for an additional fee per every 100 products. Assuming all requirements are delivered in advance. We would only do uploads and simple descriptions with that guarantee then do SEO and template integration after, since it takes longer. Then you just let us know every time you need products and we do the content. You’d pre-pay for the content prior to the work starting.

Variants do not count as a new page unless they are separate products.

We always do colors as a new product but do sizes etc as one product per color. So if you had a shirt in red and blue and it came in medium and large. You’d have 2 pages. It takes 4-6 months to setup the templates. They are custom coded to your site. Then we require a minimum of $100/mo in products any month you need content unless you are a digital advisory client (then no minimum).
